This release has some long-requested features to boost your creativity and productivity!

Materials navigation

Get creative! You can now apply nearly any material to most generic objects! The material selection UI is also now divided into categories, much like the object navigation UI. And for those that don’t want hundreds of options, Modus includes a smaller, suggested list of materials for each object.

Voice search

Quickly jump to brands, objects, and materials with voice search! Make sure your microphone volume is turned up, speak loud and clear, and give it a try!

Modus VR now leverages AI for voice input to speed up navigation of objects and materials!

Rotation handles

The all new rotation handle supports nudging, manually entering rotation values, and is much more effective when rotating large objects!

Speaker visualization

The updated speaker visualization animates more smoothly and handles asymmetrical patterns more accurately! Its range is now adjustable and it can even be aimed!

Welcome Fohhn! Great for boardrooms, classrooms, and auditoriums, we’ve added the Focus Slim, Hybrid, Scale, and Linea lines in addition to the IGS-4 and Linea subwoofers!

Salamander Designs

The commercial credenza has been updated to support UST projectors and the new low profile 6” depth. We’ve also added the Acadia Table Stand, perfect for rapidly deploying video conferencing in small-to-medium sized rooms!

Modus VR has updated the Salamander Designs' commercial credenza. It now supports ultra short throw projectors and the new low profile 6" depth. We've also added the Acadia Table Stand—a way to rapidly enable video conferencing in any small-to-medium space!

Even more new features!

  • VR: We’ve greatly loosened restrictions on which objects can have their materials changed at the same time! You can select walls, ceilings, floors—even couches, and set their materials simultaneously!
  • VR: We’ve added several new materials! Two versions carbon fiber, turf, Wilsonart VerandaTeak, rough brick, more Focal Point PET Felt, a generic PET felt, and 3 new commercial carpets!
  • VR: Updated all existing AV carts from Salamander and AVTEQ to support in-world controls for better configuration.
  • VR: Camera pan/tilt buttons now disable if there’s no pan or tilt available.
  • VR: If you select “Use material default” when picking a material’s color, switching materials now also switches color to the new material’s default until the user manually selects a different color.
  • VR: Added the Steelcase Reply Chair!
  • VR: The whiteboard object now lets you control its leg height independent of the board height.
  • VR: We’ve added a golf club holder and pool cue rack.
  • VR: The pool table and ping pong table now have additional accessories on them to look more realistic.
  • VR: The ellipsoidal stage light can now be steered with an in-world control instead of the target button.
  • VR: Simplified the architectural speaker’s description so it more closely matches the round architectural speaker’s description.
  • Photo: Simplified the filenames of generated images.
  • Docs: Added a ceiling + floor view. While disabled by default, it can be enabled during Step 3 of the line drawing creation process.
  • Launcher: Some products and features can now be delivered via DLC to minimize the download size for each release. This adds a short delay after starting the launcher before you can launch VR or Photo.

Bug Fixes

  • VR: Fixed an error where Windows sometimes couldn’t find dbgend.dll.
  • VR: Handles Can become the wrong size for other users in multi-user sessions.
  • VR: Cornered tiling objects, like those from Vicoustic, do not axis slide along the corner and nudge in the wrong direction.
  • VR: Fixed rare case where an object’s pieces could get the blue handle material.
  • VR/Photo: In a mixed-user session, the camera preview sometimes doesn’t update if Photo is viewing the camera when a VR user moves it.
  • VR: Tracking mics can point to the wrong location if the talking user has rotated their headset in VR.
  • VR: TV sometimes changes viewable size when going from wall to flat surface.
  • VR: Winsted Vue had the wrong material on the metal mesh.
  • VR: Books appeared different for server and clients in multi-user sessions.
  • VR: Vicoustic bass trap inconsistent looked different for clients in multi-user sessions.
  • VR: Middle Atlantic C5’s doors were floating off the cabinet.
  • VR: Middle Atlantic C3 and C5’s locks were missing key holes.
  • VR: Raked seating’s heads were too low.
  • VR: Can’t attach anything to the front of the AVTEQ credenza.
  • VR: Generic pendant speaker shrinks a little each time it’s duplicated.
  • VR: Indeterminate state on rake seating should be a ‘?’.
  • VR: Delay for clients when changing multiple objects at the same time in a multi-user session.
  • Photo: Extreme lag after Oculus headset falls asleep.
  • Photo: Camera preview doesn’t update if someone else moves an object the camera is attached to.
  • Photo: Camera wiggles when being near Yamaha CS-500 and CS-800 as the mount angle changes.
  • Docs: Fixed the views setup UI missing ceiling details.
  • Docs: BOM shows display sizes in feet + inches instead of inches-only.
  • Docs: Cannot edit floorplan when units are set to metric.
  • Docs: Can’t create new simple spaces via the floorplan editor.
  • Photo: can’t select seats for design assistants.
  • Launcher: Incomplete spaces have no way of getting to the floorplan editor.
  • Launcher: Placing short walls around the edges of a room breaks the floor and ceiling.
  • Launcher: Many help videos stopped working due to change in YouTube’s API.
  • Launcher: Middle clicking a link breaks the launcher.
  • 360: Can’t capture a 360 if you weren’t the one that opened a space file in an MP session.
