Ken BrueckBlog, Release notes

This release has even more quality-of-life enhancements for better collaboration and increased productivity!

Sessions

We’ve revamped how users host and join multi-user sessions in Modus. Among other things, you can now invite Modus users outside your organization to a session, join a session in Modus Photo, password-protect sessions, and more! Read the blog post to learn more about all that’s new.

Modus VR lets several people from multiple organizations collaborate on AV projects together in VR

Meta Quest 3

We’ve added official support for Meta’s latest headset, the Quest 3. Reach out to support if you’d like help determining if this headset could be a better fit for your team!

Modus VR now supports the Meta Quest 3!

Rotate in VR

Rotate yourself in VR by holding the teleport button and then clicking the right or left trigger! Check out the newly redesigned side menu to fine tune the experience.

You can now rotate in place in VR, making longer work sessions more comfortable.

Select Similar

Save time by instantly selecting all instances of the same object with a single click! Select an object in VR, go to the side menu, and click “Select similar.”

New feature in Modus VR lets you select similar objects simultaneously, speeding up workflows in larger rooms!

Sennheiser

Welcome Sennheiser! We’ve added the long-requested TCC2 and TCCM ceiling tile microphones. Be sure to enable the microphone pattern visualization!

The Sennheiser TCC2 and TCCM are now in Modus VR!

Da-Lite

Welcome Da-Lite! We’ve added the Tensioned Advantage Dropdown Screen with Sightline. This gorgeous screen is suspended by thin cables, resulting in a floating screen display!

Modus VR added the Da-Lite Tensioned Advantage with Sightline!

Vaddio

We’ve added the RoboFLIP, RoboSHOT 12E and 30E, TableMIC, and CeilingMIC products to the library. The RoboFLIP even animates to demonstrate its unique standby mode!

We've added more Vaddio products to Modus VR, including the RoboFLIP, ceilingMIC, and many more!

Middle Atlantic

We’ve added the 10” deep, ADA compliant C3 Credenza! Available in 4 widths, 2 heights, and 7 finishes, this credenza is truly an all-in-one localized AV system!

Modus VR recently added the Middle Atlantic C3 AV credenza. They also updated the C5 to match the latest styles.

Yamaha

We’ve added the CS-500 and CS-800. Both have Yamaha’s Face-Focus Beamforming Microphone technology, enabling better communication in open workspaces!

Modus VR has added the Yamaha CS-500 and CS-800. You can even visualize the beamforming face focus!

Even more new features!

  • VR: Updated several videos in the library including new trailers, more sports, and updated office content.
  • VR: Added an operable wall object to the Architectural library, perfect for designing solutions for divisible rooms!
  • VR: Added a wheelchair to the Seating library. This can also be used to help humanize certain ADA requirements, like space allowance and reach ranges.
  • VR: The rulers on conference camera lens height indicators are now interactive, making it easier to get lens height to a specific value. Simply click the lens height’s ruler to enter a specific value.
  • VR: Redesigned the side menu to make room for the new in-VR rotation controls and the Select Similar button.
  • VR: Standardized the visualizations on beamforming microphones so concepts like boundaries, focus zones, and exclusion zones are more easily compared across manufacturers.
  • VR: Updated the video playback pipeline to have more accurate colors. Previously the images could be oversaturated and/or overexposed.
  • VR: Updated the Salamander Residential credenza to fully support UST integration. Simply drag the generic UST projector onto the credenza top to see it in action!
  • VR: Updated the generic flat panel TV so it no longer has a notch at the bottom.
  • VR: Updated Middle Atlantic C5’s finishes to match the current options in production.
  • VR: Updated the Snap AV Strong racks to have a resize handle, making it easier to swap between sizes.
  • VR: Updated the warehouse racking object so it can be much taller.
  • VR: Updated the generic conference camera so it can be resized.
  • Photo: You can now choose from png and jpg image formats. The latter results in dramatically smaller files, perfect for when you need to email images from Modus Photo.
  • Launcher: You can now join a multi-user session in Modus Photo mode, great for generating content that shows someone else working in VR.
  • Launcher: You now see a warning if you’re joining a session where the host is on a different version of Modus VR from you.
  • Launcher: We’ve greatly reduced the chances of joining a multi-user session where the host computer isn’t properly set up for hosting over the internet.
  • Launcher: The detail panels for space files and 360s have been updated. Please note that ‘Edit floor plan’ isn’t gone! It’s now a link instead of a button.
  • Launcher: Redesigned the Settings tab to be more readable.
  • Launcher: You can now define the default volume and video looping settings in Settings > VR & Photo.
  • Docs: Line drawing generation has been optimized to be an average of 60% faster! This optimization also avoids a crash seen on more complex space files.

Bug Fixes

  • VR: Sometimes an incorrect menu is shown when pointing your cursor at the other controller.
  • VR: Tool palette was too low on Valve Index.
  • VR: Mountains ignored the teleport beam.
  • VR: Dimensions in the properties panel were labeled differently than those in the description popup.
  • VR: Launch-with-restricted-controls doesn’t work.
  • VR: The generic UST projector’s decals stretch when being resized.
  • VR: The generic UST projector throw distance visualization was coming from the device center, rather than the lens location.
  • VR: Color swatches don’t work on the Biamp Desono IC-6.
  • VR: In rare cases, users were unable to save a space that had a rounded column in it.
  • VR: Sometimes heads were in the wrong location on the generic couch.
  • VR: The generic dropdown screen jumped sizes when grabbing the resize handle.
  • VR: The cursor tool jumped to a new location when resizing the books object.
  • VR: The edit cage was the wrong size after switching mount modes on the generic flat panel TV.
  • VR: First spawned screen, seat, or projector weren’t available for design assistant selection until a similar object was added.
  • VR: Other small performance enhancements and bug fixes.
  • VR: Computer parts could become the default screen for design assistants, even if they were set to tower-only.
  • VR: An obscure sequence of events could lead to both controllers having tools active at the same time.
  • VR: Resizing an object while someone joins a multi-user session moves the object to the center of the space.
  • Docs: Due to the performance increase of line drawing creation, some wildly complex spaces files that used to crash can now successfully open.
  • Docs: Aborting the save process caused the application to hang.
  • Launcher: Interrupting startup when joining a session caused the launcher to shut down.
  • Launcher: Some smaller bug fixes to styles and resizing behavior.
