September 2023 Release

Release Update – September 2023

Ken BrueckBlog, Release notes

Continuing with quality of life enhancements, this release includes updates to moving and sizing objects as well as the oft-requested ability to change the outdoor environment to a cityscape. We’ve also made screen resizing even easier on video walls and added many more objects!

Environments

Tired of the mountains? Change the outdoor environment to one of three new cityscapes. You can also select pure black and pure white; useful for Modus Photo workflows where the outdoor environment would be manually removed later.

Camera feeds

Displays can now tune into a 6th channel, fed by an in-Modus camera of your choosing. Another great way to visualize what the far end’s experience will be like in a conference room.

Interactive rulers

Greatly speed up room builds by manually entering distance values for rulers. Simply click on a ruler and enter the value in your menu!

Object dimensions

Many objects can have their dimensions entered manually at the bottom of the properties panel, particularly useful if you’re working with mixed units.

D-Tools Integration

It’s easier than ever to embed a Modus 360 into a D-Tools Cloud proposal. In the launcher, select a 360 and click “Copy for D-Tools.” In the D-Tools Cloud proposal editor, “Modus 360” is now an option in the Add Section editor!

Legrand updates: Middle Atlantic and Lund Halsey

We’ve added the Lund Halsey Consoles for control room environments, and the C5 credenza for general commercial uses!

Gym equipment

You now have everything needed to build a home or commercial gym, including treadmills, rowing machines, exercise bikes, lockers and more!

Salamander updates

For home projects, we’ve added the residential credenza. On the commercial side, we’ve added the Arc Table, perfect for Signature Microsoft Teams rooms.

Even more new features!

  • VR/Photo: We’ve added several Microsoft Teams videos to show how the UI looks in 16:9, dual-screen 16:9, and 21:9 setups.
  • VR: We’ve added a generic projector and generic UST projector. You can enter specs like shift, offset, and throw ratio to mimic the behavior of any projector!
  • VR: We’ve added a generic digital wall clock, perfect for residential and commercial uses. It also supports timezone offsets to help visualize control room environments.
  • VR: Ideal for commercial and resimercial projects, we’ve added a structural beam object to the Architecture category.
  • VR: We’ve added the highly-customizable Humanscale Summa office chair.
  • VR: The first-selected object is highlighted in blue while additional selected objects are highlighted in green, making it easier to know which object will be used for things like vertical alignment and “first selected color.”
  • VR: The numeric entry widget has had several quality of life updates: the help text is now shown in your project’s selected units, the previous value is shown in light gray, and you no longer need to press the clear button to begin entering values.
  • VR: Unlocked aspect ratio screens, like video walls, now have resize handles on all 4 sides in addition to corner handles.
  • VR: The generic video wall now has options to be flown or floorstanding.
  • VR: The generic camera and generic video bar now have additional color options.
  • VR: There’s now a fallback video if someone in a multi-user session is playing a video you don’t have.
  • VR: Dome microphone patterns have received a slight visual upgrade and are more consistent across products.
  • VR: You can now attach objects to the Artnovion CS Series panels.
