Ken BrueckBlog, Release notes

Change properties in Modus Photo

Make small changes faster than ever by changing object properties directly in Modus Photo! You can adjust anything that can be changed in the properties panel, including materials and colors!

You can now edit the properties of objects directly in Modus Photo!

New media tab

Managing media has been moved to its own tab and overhauled to reduce errors when assigning content to different channels and to make it clearer which channels have audio and which support camera views.

There's a new media tab in both Modus VR and Modus Photo!

Poly

Welcome Poly (officially)! We’ve added nearly a dozen products, including cameras, videobars, controllers, and compute units! The X30 and X50 have been replaced with the X32 and X52.

We've added a full suite of Cisco video conferencing technology!

Middle Atlantic

Even more new features!

  • We’ve moved to a new file format: .modus files! These have the project thumbnail built-in for easier browsing in Windows Explorer and sharing. See the blog post for more details!
  • VR/Photo: Both Modus VR and Modus Photo have received a UI refresh that’s more consistent across both applications.
  • VR/Photo: Added a media composition for Miro, a collaboration platform for teams.
  • VR/Photo: Minor optimizations to several materials.
  • Photo: You can now open and save projects directly in Modus Photo!
  • Photo: In addition to controlling a camera’s PTZ settings via the properties panel in Photo, you can also control it using the arrow keys and -/+ buttons on a keyboard, or the D-pad and shoulder buttons on a controller!
  • Photo: The default value indicator circle is now interactive, making it easy to reset the slider to its default value.
  • Photo: Because the Media tab is unified across VR and Photo, you can now select a camera in the room to play on Channel 6!
  • Photo: Added undo and redo support via Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z, respectively.
  • Photo: Updated both the Controls tab and the controls legend (top right corner).
  • Photo: The menu is now shown on launch rather than hidden.
  • VR: Made headsets and controllers fade out when the camera gets close, particularly helpful in Presenter Mode when the drone gets close to the operator.
  • VR: Enhanced and updated the drop ceiling tile material. There are now two versions: 24” and 60cm.
  • VR: We’ve added over a dozen more Focal Point acoustic materials!
  • VR: The laptop is now its own object, separate from the rest of the “computer parts” object.
  • VR: Reduced overall network traffic, increasingly important for large groups of VR users.
  • VR: Made “Huddly” easier to search for with voice control.
  • VR: Added new designs to the flag object: Australia, Australia Indigenous People, Canada, European Union, India, Ireland, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pirates, Scotland, Switzerland, and United Kingdom
  • VR: Cameras’ lens height indicator now renders more efficiently and is always visible from the Presenter Mode camera.
  • VR: We now show a “Missing video” image if another user in a multi-user session plays a composition you don’t have.
  • VR: Included the generic in-wall and in-ceiling speakers in the library’s Conferencing > Audio section.
  • Docs: Several objects’ BOM output has been modified to be more useful, including: Yamaha RM-CG, Barco XT video wall, Lund Halsey Visionline consoles, Shure MXA-920, Sennheiser TCC bars, Chief Voyager display cart, Vaddio RoboSHOT, and Neat Center.
  • Launcher: Added an option during Modus installation to disable the Windows character limit. This is particularly helpful in organizations with several layers of nested folders in their projects folder.
  • VR: Removed the Microsoft Teams option from the Neat Frame.
  • VR: Removed the following discontinued materials from the Da-Lite Tensioned Advantage : HD Progressive 0.6, 0.9, 1.1, and 1.1 Perf. These materials will continue to work in legacy spaces but will no longer be available in new instances of the screen.
  • VR: Added HD Progressive 1.0 and HD Progressive 1.0 Perf screen materials to the Da-Lite Tensioned Advantage.
  • General: Updated the license agreement
